Do you realise that if your child has one day off,
they miss:
*1 hour numeracy lesson
* 1 hour literacy lesson
* foundation lessons e.g. Geography / P.E. / ICT / History / Music
/ Art
* Social aspects of the school day –
- Assembly and discussion
- 3 playtimes
- Lunch
- After school activities where informal learning takes place
So – if your child has one week off school,
they miss:
* 5 numeracy lessons
* 5 literacy lessons
* foundation lessons – Geography / History / Music / Foreign
language / Games / Art / Technology
* At least 15 social breaks
* After school activities
If your child has 2 weeks off school, they miss:
* 10 numeracy lessons where new work will be introduced
* 10 literacy lessons where new work will be introduced
* Probably – 2 of each of the following lessons –
Geography, History, Music, Foreign language, Games, Religious
Education, Art and Technology
* Many social activities and after school activities
* Parts of a class story
* A class assembly
